Food Services

Good nutrition and learning go hand in hand.

The Nutrition Services department is made up of a team of food and nutrition professionals that are dedicated to student's health, well-being, and ability to learn. We support learning by promoting healthy habits for lifelong nutrition and fitness practices.

Meals, foods, and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal requirements which are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines. We provide students with access to various affordable and appealing foods that meet their health and nutrition needs.

We are pleased to inform you that Elwood UFSD will be implementing the Community Eligibility Provision, available to schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs for 2025-2026.

What does this mean for your child(ren) attending Elwood UFSD?

All students are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at no charge to your household each day of the 2025-2026 school year. No further action is required of you. Your child(ren) will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit an application.
